USPS Price Increases: Are Your Marketing Plans Prepared?

Marketing plans need constant adapting for reasons beyond control. Even the best laid plans and budgets won’t stand up to some changes, like the recent price hikes from the United States Postal Service that will be effective January 26, 2014. The change is intended to generate $2 billion in annual revenue for the Postal Service, and your budgets may need to adjust from the following hit:

  • Letters (1 oz.) — 3-cent increase to 49 cents
  • Letters (additional ounces) — 1-cent increase to 21 cents
  • Letters to all international destinations (1 oz.) — $1.15
  • Postcards — 1-cent increase to 34 cents
